This evidence must be in writing from the employer detailing precisely the areas of gas work previously carried out.

As a Category 2 candidate you can only be accepted for ACS assessment after you have completed some substantial training.

The form that this training takes is split into two sections.

1. Off the job training.

2. On the job training.

Off the job training.

This will take place at our approved training centre and will cover all aspects of the gas industry necessary to meet the ACS assessment criteria.
The training will be divided into modules, consisting of both theory and practical elements.
The modules will cover everything, from legislation to commissioning appliances.
All learning materials and manuals that are necessary will be supplied.

On the job training.

This training must take place in the workplace under the supervision of a registered CORGI engineer.  Written evidence in the form of a portfolio must be produced to prove that you have undertaken on the job training.  The portfolio must demonstrate the installation and/or maintenance of gas appliances and display experience in the gas industry.  The depth of this part of the training is very extensive and the criteria can, at times, be demanding. We will be at hand at all times to help you and guide you through any problems.

Assessment.

Once you have satisfied the demands of On the job and Off the job training you will be allowed to go forward to sit your Domestic Core Gas Safety (CCN1) assessment.

After you have been successful with CCN1 you will then be eligible to undertake assessments for any appliances that you may require.
We will of course provide training for the various appliance elements.
