Assessments - Cavity Wall Installer Safety Awareness

This one day attendance course has been devised by Technical Gas Training Ltd for the benefit of Installers of Cavity Wall Insulation. It raises awareness of several aspects of safety when Cavity Wall Insulation is installed into a property that contains a Gas, Oil or Solid Fuel burning appliance. It is imperative that no flue, chimney or combustion ventilation is compromised during any installation process.

The topics that are covered are:

• Appliance Identification
• Flue and Chimney Identification
• The need for Combustion Ventilation
• The design and sizing of ventilators
• Affects of Carbon Monoxide 
• Identification of Incomplete Combustion
• Flue and Spillage Testing
• Legal obligations.

It must be stressed that attendance on this course does not permit an operative to work on a Gas or Oil appliance or installation.
